Braggs and Esme, or Braggsme, were rescued the same evening and have been soulmates ever since. Esme (brindle) is a teeny tiny warthog/pittie mix who ended up at Chicago Animal Control, after having babies (who weren't with her), covered in scabs and sores and so shy that she didn't want to come out of her cage. The night we drove away from the shelter with a terrified Esme, Braggs carried up to the car by the scruff of his neck and thrown in, the owner only saying that he was the last of a litter of puppies and he couldn't sell him before walking away. So Esme, who was completely shut down after her experiences, and Braggs, a puppy who was afraid of his own shadow, met. These two have formed such a beautiful friendship. They are always checking in and nudging each other. They are seep holding paws or snuggling bound around each other. They play. They groom. They are incredibly sweet. They speak each other's language. They love one another. They are looking for someone to open their home to them so they could grow old together. They love children and just hanging out. They are great in the car and walk well together on adventures. We would just love to see them thrive forever onward, together, as part of a family. Esme is about 3 years old and only 35 lbs, Braggs is about a year old and 55 lbs.
