Forever home Testimonials

We knew we were in good hands as Marta guided us thru the process. There was no pressure ever. With as busy as Marta must be, she answered all our questions, patiently and truthfully working with us thru this process.

From our discussions, Marta narrowed down the pups that would possibly be a good fit for us and introduced us to Lee Lee and the wonderful fosters. We got to meet Lee Lee in the fosters home and see her in person in a relaxed, safe environment. We then were able to have the foster parents and Lee Lee visit us at our house multiple times to ensure Lee Lee was the right fit for us and that we were the right fit for Lee Lee. The entire process built trust between Lee Lee and us. She was familiar with us before the final visit; the wonderful “gotcha” day when she joined our family.

MCP (Marta) and the fosters supported us with love, care and patience during the entire process. We had so much background information on Lee Lee (as she was with the fosters for months) before she was ours that we felt we knew her and could make the transition to our house/family as easy on Lee Lee as possible.

Lee Lee is a dream dog. She is truly the perfect fit for our family. She is chill, funny and loving! She brings smiles and laughter daily. We are forever in the debt of MCP who saw Lee Lee at the shelter and saw her beautiful soul and gave her a chance. We are forever in the debt of the lovely fosters who loved Lee Lee and made her feel safe, loved and part of a loving family again.

We are now proud and thankful members of the wonderful MCP pack and highly recommend MCP to anyone looking for a rescue animal to join their family.

“MCP Rescue and Outreach saved Lee Lee and in doing so, allowed us to expand our family to now include this lovely, furry, funny soul.
As we were looking to expand our family with a rescue pup we came across the lovely dogs that MCP has on their website. We weren’t sure exactly what we were looking for, we just knew we wanted a rescue dog (as there are just too many in our society that need a home). We reached out regarding a couple dogs on the MCP website and Marta caringly reached out to us to get to know us, our lifestyle, our descriptions of the type of dog we were looking for. Marta knows her rescues individually. She can provide a wealth of information about each and every dog and cat shown on the website. The true love and care she exhibits for all her rescues is so obvious from the very first conversation.

“I found MCP shortly after moving to Chicago from out of state while looking for a dog to adopt. Marta assured me she would find the perfect fit for me, and in the meantime I fostered many little pups into forever homes. Then Gus (formerly Run) showed up and the rest was history (see below for why).

Marta and the whole team are truly doing amazing things to get over-looked underdogs into homes where they can be their best selves. I don’t know what magical powers MCP possesses, but I’m so glad I found them! Forever grateful for connecting me and my family with our guy Gus”

“MCP Rescue and Outreach is a amazing organization! They truly love their furry friends and have nothing but their best interest in heart. My wife and I cannot say enough great things about our experience we had in the adoption process with our rescue dog who we absolutely adore.
We had the privilege to work with Marta in the process and she truly reminded me just how caring, nurturing and most importantly … how passionate people can be when they are part of great goal.
We are proud members of the “pack” and big believers in the cause!

Thank you MCP for your never ending efforts to give these wonderful animals a second chance at life.”

“Marta and MCP made our experience as first adopters incredible! We were unsure of what we were looking for but we trusted Marta and she directed us to our wonderful CJ. She gave us advice throughout the first weeks of having CJ at home and she’s always ready to help us out or receive my prideful pictures of our adorable puppy. Thank you Marta for caring about every dog you meet and for taking time to get to know every potential adopter. We appreciate it immensely. Giulia, Bryan and the wonderful CJ!!!”

“The word COMPASSION is grossly under-stated by the enormity of what this rescue truly does. The community help in Chicagoland is profound and their reach beyond is tearfully and graciously appreciated beyond words.
This rescue and the people behind the name, all step UP to take IN the discarded, the hurt, the “unwanted” and the “dangerous” (specifically, the terrified and desperately seeking a shred of compassion from humankind). Rehabilitation for the body AND soul.
I’ve watched time and time again, when shelters almost abuse their ever-giving hearts, to take in the most disastrous of medical need animals. MCP simply finds a way to help, when everyone else turns their heads shamefully away.
Lady and her two babies, born outdoors alone, in hellacious heat, riddled with parasites and worms were so lucky to fall into the loving MCP Rescue pack. The only two surviving litter mates, barely 2 weeks old, and young mom, were scooped up and their lives saved by this amazing group of women and rescue organization.
They don’t brag about their heroic ways...(but they should) so instead allow my words to really scream out loud about their Mission, their Compassion and their Rescue and community outreach to Chicago and beyond.
I genuinely love this group. Thank GOD for you!!!”

“We adopted our first MCP dog as MCP was beginning its existence. When Blue passed unexpectedly, we went right back to MCP for our next dog. A few years have passed, and we’ve had six MCP dogs around our house. Some we adopted, some fostered, and some were welcomed to our home for hospice. In every case, Marta and her pack had our backs, providing us with essential background info on each pooch and ensuring good matches were made. If you are looking to adopt, expect the review process to be very thorough, and rightly so. MCP has pulled these dogs from miserable situations, and they are dedicated to making sure their dogs move on to safe and loving homes. Reading some of the other reviews prompts me to say that some of these dogs get so many great applications, that it’s a shame for people who lose out on their fave pick. It’s a testament to MCP’s matchmaking abilities that very few of their dogs end up returned to them. I love this crew!”

“Love love love MCP and Marta! Anyone can call themself a rescue and basically flip dogs to make a quick buck. MCP is a FOR REAL rescue. Every foster, every adoption, every animal placement is carefully thought out to ensure it is the best situation for the people and the pet. Setting these once discarded animals up for success takes hard work, blood, sweat and tears. The work does not end when a dog is pulled from the shelter and placed in a home - that is when the work begins. The people behind MCP put their hearts and souls into every decision, every placement; every sentient being fortunate enough to be part of MCP is so much the better for it Thank you Marta for allowing me to be Willa’s guardian.”

-Gina Marie

“MCP and it’s team are one of a kind. They truly care about their dogs and the families who adopt them. MCP staff is very knowledgeable and really want everyone to succeed. I would recommend all my friends and family to this rescue. Our rescue pup Ethel is such a great addition to our family. Thank you to everyone at MCP for welcoming us into your pack!”

“My story with MCP is sadly not one of triumph, but without the generous and loving support of MCP, we would never have made it as far as we did.

In the summer of 2018 my family had just moved to Illinois. It was in August of that summer that my family took a trip to Minnesota and left our sweet dogs with a dog sitter from Rover. Little did we know how much our lives would change the day I dropped them off. While we lived in the Schaumburg area, our sitter lived in the Bucktown area of Chicago. On the day I was to pick up our dogs, I received a panicked phone call from our dog sitter saying the smallest of our pups, Lucy, had slipped through the back gate and ran away. The sitter was in the process of following her and trying to get her to come back to her, but at some point she lost track of her.

I spent the next several days driving in the area, posting flyers, and in general trying to make her loss known. It was at this time that I met Marta. Marta was out walking a large gaggle of pups while my husband and I were driving up and down the streets calling out for Lucy with our three month old in his car seat. Marta stopped us, gave us her contact info, and vowed to help us.

Help us she did!! She gathered volunteers from her MCP network to help us put up flyers throughout the surrounding neighborhoods, talked to people on our behalf, checked out leads that people thought might be Lucy, gave us countless hours of her time and resources while still running MCP and having 24/7 dog duty responsibilities.

The members of MCP came to our aide when we knew no one, had no one, were completely on our own. They didn’t need to help us, but they did, for months of searching, because they stand true to their name. Mission Compassion Paw for all, not just those in their network.

Even though we never found our sweet Lucy, the love, support, and help we received from MCP was incredible. We are forever grateful! Thank you, MCP. You are truly the best at what you do and we love you so much!!!”

“Just want to give a huge shoutout to MCP and Amanda Onion. It was the best decision we’ve ever made. Amanda is the best and most knowledgeable person ever. We adopted franky aka oasis about a month ago and Amanda to this day answers any question we have at any time of the day. I would recommend MCP to anyone I know. MCP and Amanda made the process so easy and quick. We are so grateful for them for getting us Franky.“

“MCP is like the waiter at arestaurant that will bring what you ordered, but knows about the secret salami that’s not on the menu that you’ll love even more. The big one was first. My girl Mabel was afraid of everything and stubborn and strong and I didn’t have any idea what I was doing. We got lots of support and advice- she’s still a chicken but she eventually started to trust. Now she takes her chief security officer position very seriously, learned how to sit, chase balls, play, swim, ask for belly rubs, chew marrow bones and enjoy life after being a puppy machine. She’s got soul.
The little one came 15 months later. “I’m ready for another 40lbs” Hank’s back end is all banged up and swagger-y, he pees on his feet, wants to live in my armpit, has a strong affection for rotten banana peels, and makes me laugh 72 times each day. I can’t imagine when we weren’t a pack of 3. Let MCP help pick your dog for you, and then do what Marta says. Everybody wins.”

-Jodie Bultman

“Marta and team are absolutely excellent with the adaption process. The minute I submitted for our little peanut I got a voicemail which lead to a great conversation on the phone. Soon enough the foster parent came by to meet our current dog and went on a great pack walk. We watched them play and interact. Then we had to do it again to meet my other half! How responsible is that? I won’t mention who.. but our last place we adopted they didn’t ask half as many questions, do a home visit or meet my husband! I can’t recommend MCP enough. I know they believed in us and I will promise to give love to our new little girl and can’t wait to have other friends go through you to adapt! Thank you again for all you do.”

-Amy Telpner

“MCP Rescue and Outreach is an absolutely incredible, dedicated network that truly cares about saving animals. The team ensures the best efforts have been put forth to get you the best dog for YOU! I was lucky enough to get my dog, Boris, from MCP and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. His health was monitored, he was in training when I adopted him - I could not have been luckier to find this dog through MCP. The MCP team cares about placing the right dog with the right person. Patience is key here. You have to trust the process and know that they WILL find the perfect dog for you, and want to make sure the dog fits in your life perfectly. I could not say more positive things about Marta and her team and I feel so so so lucky to have adopted my dog through MCP.”

-Casey Deeter

“What Marta does at MCP is truly special! She really gets to know these dogs and is committed to finding the perfect situation for them.
As a potential adopter, my family had some specific needs along with our wants, like being good with young kids and a grumpy old cat. We inquired about a couple dogs that looked great to us, but since Marta knew what we needed, she was honest about their potential fit (or in this case, lack of).
Then, Squish came into the MCP pack and BOOM. Match made in heaven. She knew it, and after about five minutes, we knew it, too. Turns out, MCP looks for the perfect situation for both the dogs AND the people.
Thanks so much to Katie for fostering Squish, and Marta for being the absolutely best. We are so excited to love on this dog forever and can't recommend MCP enough!”

“Oh man. Well, I reached out to Marta because we wanted to be a foster family. See if we were "dog people" you know...Marta spent so much time really getting to the bottom of what we wanted to do and why, and was very careful in choosing dogs for us to host. She was cognizant of the fact that we had active kids, and we had never had a dog before, and allllll of the important things that you would need to know to make sure an animal was safe. She sent us 3 pics and we got this dude who came to us with the name Bonner. He is so sweet and happy, and within a week Marta was in touch about a family who was interested in being his forever home. Well, wouldn't you know it, there was no way we wanted to give this guy up. He is literally the PERFECT dog for us. We renamed him Yoshi, and now he is our forever pup, and it's like he's been with us always. Our house and clothes are covered in his furry love, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Marta is exceptional for those of us who are "new at dogs," and is consistently engaged and helpful to make sure there is success with the foster program OR if you adopt. In the future, should Yoshi need a buddy (ha!), I know EXACTLY to whom I will reach out. ALWAYS MCP.”

-Kelly Nichols

“This rescue is amazing!!! Not only do they help you find the right family member, they walk you through the whole transition period. This is the most helpful, honest, committed adoption agency I’ve ever heard of. They have my support for life. Thanks for uniting us with our baby Cleo.”

-Juliet Wozniak

“After several years without a dog in our home my wife and I were ready again. Earlier this year we saw a great dog that MCP posted online and we sent an application. When we heard back from MCP they informed us that that dog had found it's forever home already but they had another great dog who they thought might also be a good fit... and boy were they right! Ro has been with us about 2 months now and he is amazing. We can't thank MCP enough for connecting us with this special guy and for all of their love and support along the way. Amanda, Allison, and Marta, thank you all so much!”

-Howie Rollson

“For over twenty years my babies have all been from rescues. MCP was by far the best of them. Their depth of knowledge with each animal in their pack is extensive, their upfront honesty and candor during the process is fantastic. In addition they are sincere with each member (both four legged and human) that become part of their pack, as we are all pack members for life. I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to enrich their lives by adding a four legged family member and will forever be grateful to them for saving my Stella.”

-Kristy Kimball

“This is a group of selfless, single-minded animal lovers dedicated to the ignored, disposed and forgotten dogs (and on occasion cats). They are a team that walks through fire to save, place and love. Foster, donate and adopt through this group. It will inspire.”

-Debbi Flores

“Working in another rescue organization, I know how sad, frustrating, challenging, and yes - political - this line of work can be. Our organization recently asked for help to place a dog that was struggling in our shelter facility. MCP Rescue & Outreach came through!! Thanks to such diligence, care and compassion, another wonderful dog will now have the happy life she deserves. It takes a village - and we are so thrilled to have such incredible people like Marta & her team helping out.”

-Kym Stolt Iffert

“We are incredibly appreciative and grateful for MCP and the hard working staff and volunteers.
MCP ensured a smooth adoption process both for my family and the 7 month old fur baby we adopted.
We already had a 2.5 year old dog at home. I loved that MCP encouraged a successful adoption and transition by having the two dogs meet on a walk and then a second time for a walk and play date. They instantly became best friends and are now inseparable.
MCP is incredibly responsive. Every email I sent received a response the same day. We didn’t have any issues having copies of vet records sent to us.
Overall this was the best experience we could have wished for. I highly recommend MCP.”
