Hannah Jones | Foster & Volunteer

I’m Hannah and I stumbled into fostering with MCP about 5 years ago. Many pittie fosters later (with the occasional mutt and mini mastiff), and my husband and I have ended up with one MCP foster fail, the marvelous pittie/GSD/hound mutt Mrs Masil Basil, and a huge extended family of former fosters and adopters! While I grew up with several mastiffs, a Rottweiler, and a temporary min pin (because my family always provided a home for dogs whose families were going through transitions or tough times), Finnick the rottie/mastiff/pitbull mutt is the one I have to thank for bringing me to MCP. He came to us from another rescue deeply insecure, unsure about other dogs, conflicted about human strangers, and anxious. He taught me a lot about dogs that come with messy pasts and helped me learn how to communicate and grow in a relationship with a canine companion through a whole lot of (ongoing) hard work. Special as he is, Pack Life dog daycare took him in without question, and Sean of pack life introduced us to MCP. The rest is history!

But really, the universe must have known how quickly we’d connect to MCP’s intense devotion to each and every unique dog, learning their needs and personalities, choosing to see the dogs that no one else wants, and developing successful human-animal relationships. It’s scrappy but hard work, heart, and connection.

Thanks for MCP being our family, and letting us learn from each and every dog (and occasional cat!) that comes into our lives
